Cape Cod Sea Glass Jewelry – Handcrafted Coastal Designs

There's this moment that happens on a foggy morning walk along a Cape Cod beach when you're not looking for anything in particular, just moving, and then you see it! That smooth piece of sea glass, frosted and luminous, that makes you stop. That moment is basically what LEXACO is.

We started because we couldn't stop thinking about sea glass. Not as a craft material, but as a story. Every single piece is proof that even broken things like discarded bottle fragments, forgotten ocean debris can become something extraordinary if you give them time. The ocean spent years, maybe decades, smoothing and frosting these shards into treasure. How could we not turn that into jewelry?

So we did. And seven years later, here we are on Main Street in Harwich Port, still finding new ways to work with what the ocean gives us.

What Makes Sea Glass Different

Every piece of sea glass is completely different. No two are exactly alike. That means when you wear LEXACO jewelry, you're wearing something no one else has.

Most sea glass on Cape Cod comes in soft greens, browns, and grays from decades in the Atlantic. But if you search long enough, you find rarities. That impossible cornflower blue, the pale rose, or the deep amber that catches light.

When we design with sea glass, we keep it simple. A delicate wire wrap. Maybe a thin chain. The goal is to create a frame worthy of what it already is. Let it move, catch light and most importantly, be the story.

Why Larimar Feels Right

We discovered larimar and it inspired us. Found only in the Dominican Republic, it's a luminous blue-green that looks like captured Caribbean waters.

What makes larimar gemstone special is what it isn't - not dyed, not treated, not enhanced. Completely natural. When you wear it from LEXACO, you're wearing nature as it actually exists.

Larimar and sea glass shouldn't work together. One's soft and frosted, while the other is crisp and crystalline. One's Atlantic, another's Caribbean. But they do. They represent two ocean experiences, two kinds of beauty.

We design larimar gemstone pieces with restraint. Hand-wrapped wire, clean silver settings and pieces that feel delicate without being fragile.

What "Handcrafted" Actually Means Here

We use that word a lot, and we know it gets watered down in the jewelry world. So let's be specific about what it means at LEXACO.

Every piece that leaves our studio has been touched by hands that actually care. We're not on a deadline or racing against a quota or trying to maximize production. When we get a piece of sea glass in, we sit with it. We look at it. We consider what it wants to be.

We design settings that enhance rather than compete. We hand-wrap the wire, hand-solder the connections and hand-finish until it feels right. Not "perfect," just right.

This takes time. Real time. And that means you're getting something built to actually last. Not built to be replaced when trends shift. That's why every piece comes with a lifetime guarantee. It's not marketing language. It's us saying: we made this for your whole life. We believe in it that much.

The Pieces That Matter

When someone comes back to the studio months or years later still wearing a piece we made for them, we know our crafted sea glass or larimar has become a part of their daily life.

It's always been our philosophy that it isn't about jewelry in the fashion sense, but about pieces that accumulate meaning.

Some of our favorite projects are custom commissions. Customers bring in sea glass they've collected over years, sometimes even decades, and tell us stories like "This is from the summer my daughter was born." "This is from our thirtieth anniversary trip." "This is from the year everything changed." Those aren't just stones. Those are memories and we're fortunate enough to get to turn them into something someone will wear forever.

That's the real value of what we do. It's personal. It tells your story, not a generic one.

A Little About Who We Are

LEXACO started in 2018 and we've not been able to stop thinking about sea glass. Seven years later, we're still on the same corner of Main Street in Harwich Port, still finding new ways to honor what the ocean gives us.

Last year was particularly special since we acquired Monahan & Company, the iconic Cape Cod Ball Jewelry brand that's been beloved by generations since the 1960s. Those are the bracelets people pass down and pieces that often become heirlooms. That acquisition felt like coming full circle, like we're part of a tradition of making jewelry that actually means something.

We work with artisans who understand craftsmanship and source materials we believe in. Be it genuine sea glass, naturally colored larimar, sterling silver or gold, everything we do comes back to this idea of making something real, making it last, and letting people build their lives around it.

You can visit us in our studio, hold the pieces and see the sea glass and larimar in person. Talk to us about what you're looking for and if you've been collecting sea glass yourself over the years? Bring it in. We can turn your beach finds into jewelry you'll wear forever. Your memories, your moments, made into something beautiful.
